Getting There

The Kelvingrove Lawn Bowls Centre is located approximately 1.9 miles west of Glasgow city centre, on the north of the River Clyde within Kelvingrove Park,   situated next to the magnificent Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum and overlooked by the equally spectacular Victorian edifice of Glasgow University.

Public Transport

Glasgow Underground Subway – From City Centre in 10 minutes

There are two city centre Subway stations - St. Enoch and Buchanan Street. It takes just 24 minutes to complete a full circuit of all 15 stations.  From these stations take the Subway to either Kelvinbridge or Kelvin Hall. Both are approximately a 10 minute walk to the Kelvingrove Lawn Bowls Centre.

From Kelvinbridge exit to the right, walk through the car park to Gibson Street and it is a short walk through Kelvingrove Park to the venue. From Kelvin Hall Station exit and turn left, cross Byres Road and it is a short walk along Argyll Street past the Kelvingrove Art Gallery to the venue.

Glasgow Buses

The Kelvingrove Lawn Bowls Centre is served by a number of bus routes with stops in close proximity to the Venue.

From Hope Street at Glasgow Central Station, First Bus services 2, 3, 4, 4A, 6, 6A, 19 and 19A. Services 2, 3, 19 and 19A to Argyle Street at Radnor Street, approximately 2 minutes’ walk to venue.

By Car – Parking

The venue is situated on Kelvin Way just off the Sauchihall Street/Argyle Street Merge. The address for Sat Nav is Kelvin Way, Glasgow, G3 7TA.

Parking on Kelvin Way is controlled over 7 days and cost approximately £1.50 per hour. Parking on Sauchihall Street is free at weekends but limited spaces are available.

Alternative car parking is generally available at the Kelvingrove Art Gallery (2 minute walk) and costs £1.00 for 4 hours. An overflow Car Park is also available in nearby Bunhouse Road (5 minute walk) and also costs £1.00 for 4 hours.

Kelvingrove Lawn Bowls Centre is open to the public. Please do not leave valuables unattended. Bowls Scotland will take no responsibility for lost or stolen items.


There is limited storage space available, please use the lockers located in the changing rooms in the main complex at Kelvingrove. These require a £1 coin, which is refundable.

There will be qualified First Aid on site.
